Show me yours, and I’ll show you mine……. hee hee. ;)

You know that old game…. but did you realize we play it here on buddyslim almost every day?  It’s true, but instead of sharing a peek at our …well you know, we play the grown up version.  We share a peek at our most private thoughts.  Our fears, doubts, hopes, lies and secret desires. And like the children we once were, we are reassured to find that everyone else has, more or less, the same ’stuff’ we do.  I can’t even begin to guess why we’re this way;  but just knowing that someone else binges, cheats, lies, dreams the same dreams and cries the same tears, is a tremendous comfort. When one of us reaches a goal we all share in the joy and when someone is in a low place and needs support, the response is amazing. I’m motivated every time I see a buddy make progress.  I believe that one of the best ways to lift yourself out of the ‘blahs’ is to  someone else a hand up.  Knowing all that, why do I blog so seldom?  I will spend literally hours reading buddy’s posts and comments, without posting or commenting.  I’m like an anonymous voyeur… spying quietly, thinking comments in my head, but not responding.  But once I start…….. look out!  Here I come, and I just can go on and on until I think you must all be sick of ‘listening’ to me.  I guess I’m the same way with a lot of things in my life.  Like housework.  It piles up until I can’t stand it, then I become obsessed with keeping everything just so.  (for a while, anyway)  Well, that’s about it, don’t know where this was supposed to go………  I don’t even know what it has to do with weight loss, but I hope it strikes a chord with someone.  Surely I’m not the only one that needs to know I’m not the only one with ’stuff’.     ;)

Sandy you are riot! you always make me laugh. You are so right about all of us sharing everything just to find out, we are all in the same boat. It is reassuring to know that everyone is going through the same things only on different levels sometimes and at different times in their lives. How wonderful it is to have this awesome! place to come and voice all of our thoughts, our opinions in hopes of helping someone along the way and getting inspired ourselves by others. Thank you for posting this. Luv ya! sista!

I love reading your blogs, as seldom as they may be. It always makes for a great read. You are so correct, I love when reading the blogs for the day I sit here and nod my head in agreement because I am either going through the same thing or I have already gone through it. I am so glad to have found Buddyslim!

I love reading blogs. I love hearing how things are working for some and how some are still trying. It helps me keep going that’s for sure. :)

For me…it is like group therapy. Just putting it out there…and letting people read it…it is relieving. The comforting words people give me or others…ministry to my soul. It is also a creative outlet for my artsy fartsy part…where I can just be me. Write what is in my heart and release it. AND the mother in me…love the opportunity to wipe away a tear!
    Thanks for your great blog!

Yeah, this has become a passion for me. When I started, I was like..yeah…what do I have to write about. Then I got involved and this has become a favorite part of the day….reading blogs, responding and writing thoughts down.

How true. I have found it to be so theraputic to just be able to write and be honest on the blog whereas you can’t with yoru family or they just don’t understand things the way we do on bs. I also do a lot of lurking on other people’s blog and not commnent. I really should commnet more because I sure now how much I appreciate others to commnet and let me now that we both have the same “parts”.

Rachel, I love the way you put things. Lurking is just exactly what it is. I love to lurk. hee hee The word is even funny to write. Well, thanks for commenting on this blog, and not just lurking, this time. ;) AND congratulation on your losses. You are doing an awesome job!
