I’m posting this again, it has been so helpful to me I want to share…..

OK, now I have a plan. Each day will be different, we all know we can do 1 day of just about anything, right?

Mon. Vegetarian. Eggs, dairy ok..no meat, chicken, fish.
Tues. Extra water. Whatever you do, add 20% more.
Wed. Extra exercise. Whatever you do, add 20% more.
Thurs. No refined sugar, no junk food. (you know what that is)
Fri. Fish, not just for Catholics….it’s good for everyone!
Sat. Do something nice for YOURSELF. (not food)
Sun. Do something nice for your soul. Devotions, charity, contemplate your navel, if that’s what does it for you.

Enjoy your week, I’ll let you know how it works for me.

One day at a time….each one a different challenge!

Default Re: Heartbreakers No.5! “All glory comes from daring to begin!”

I originally posted this in forum, in the weight challenge thread Heartbreakers No. 5!  “All glory comes from daring to begin!”  Heartbreakers is the name of our weight challenge team, and even though I don’t know anyone on the team, outside of BuddySlim, we are all getting acquainted while we work together to win the weekly challenge.  I wanted to share it with everyone who reads my blog so, here it is.Hey everyone, It is fun getting to know something about each other, aside from the fact that we all want to lose weight. Belle, I always thought of you as just a pretty pair of legs…..now I am impressed by your career and language skills…I sure can’t speak anything but English (sometimes even that isn’t all it should be). And Julie, you have such a love of children and teaching….all of you have something to offer your communities and families. There is not one of you who haven’t surprised me with your witty and sometimes sad observations of our struggles to fit into our ’skinny jeans’. I want to just reach out and hug you Julie, and make the hurt go away. I can’t really do that but I can tell you to use that hurt…..let it make you even more determined than ever! You aren’t just fighting for yourself, you would be surprised at how you influence someone else who might be reading your posts and take heart from the way you have worked so hard to get to your goals. And that is true of each of us……that’s what this site is all about. Well….I guess that’s all I have to say. Don’t know what got into me to get so wordy, you all just touch my heart sometimes.

So good to see everyone again!!!!

Why is it we have to lose something to appreciate it?  I never felt the urge to blog as much as I did this weekend.  Now that I’m here I’m not exactly sure what I had to say that was so important.  I did well, lost 2 lbs and began walking again.  Had let it lapse during the winter.  No excuse for that.  I could have gone.  Bitter truth.  YUK!   I think getting on a weight loss team…..I am proud to be a Heart Breaker, is a great motivator.  Everyone is so supportive.  When I waver I remember the team and how I don’t want to let them down.  It works.  And here is something I find interesting.  I gave up snacking for Lent and I am amazed at how much easier it is to turn away from those between meal calories.  They are usually so hard to resist but now just knowing it’s not an option has made it much easier.  I can honestly say I wish Lent lasted longer.  lol.  I guess I’ll just have to use (ugh) will power.  And we all know how that works.  I guess that’s all for now, except to say congratulations to everyone who participated in a weight loss challenge last week….we’re all winners!
